The (Champaign, Illinois) News-Gazette asked me to write a small article on Red Grange’s extraordinary performance against Michigan in 1924. (The piece ran in Sunday’s paper and can be found on-line, too.) The game helped change the course of American sports history. And in other Galloping Ghost news: Larger Than Life: The Red Grange Story, a documentary about Grange, has received an Emmy nomination. It was fun to be a part of it. (The photo of Grange’s uniform was taken at the Wheaton College Archives & Special Collections. Wheaton was an essential and valuable resource in the writing of my book, The Galloping Ghost.)
